66 year old, Frances ‘Fran’ Marcotte, of DeMotte, passed away February 8, 2021.
Frances was born on January 3,1955 to Cecil and Clara (Radtke) Button in Winamac, Indiana. She graduated from Winamac High School. She studied psychology and music for three years at Olivet Nazarene University and was in The Swiss Bell Choir. She worked in the medical field as a Phlebotomist and Medical Assistant. Fran worked as Unit Secretary for ICU at Riverside Medical Center for many years. Growing up, she had a great passion for music, dance, and played the clarinet. Fran loved to travel around the world with Rural Youth Group and was involved in 4-H and other church groups. Fran had a horse named Prince, and she loved to barrel race him. She married the love of her life: Joseph Marcotte, on December 31,1976 in Winamac, Indiana. Her world was centered around her children and eleven grandchildren.
Fran is survived by her loving family, husband: Joseph, children: Bryant (Jill) Marcotte, Brandie (Kevin) Benda, Brenton Marcotte, Bronson (Nicole) Marcotte, Brock Marcotte, Briana Marcotte, grandchildren: Madison, Isabella, Katelyn, Carter, Keaton, Sophia, Jacob, Chase, Autumn, Ava, Raelynn, siblings: June Button, Sharon Thompson, and Jim (Esther) Button, and many loving nieces and nephews, mother-in-law: Esther Marcotte.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents: Cecil & Clara, infant son: Benjamin, and granddaughter: Blair Marcotte, brother-in-law: Gail Thompson, father-in-law: Kenneth Marcotte.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m.on Thursday, February18, 2021, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Fran will take place Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Schlichtering officiating.
Per Fran’s wishes cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
