89 year old, Floyd Jabaay of Largo, Florida, formerly of DeMotte, passed away September 21, 2011.
Floyd was born on September 20, 1922 he was born to Harry F. and Hilda (nee: Schoon) Jabaay. Floyd graduated from Hammond High School. He married Alyce Hoogeveen on November 21, 1947 in Lansing, Illinois. He worked as a milkman for Pleasant View Dairy in Highland and as a car salesman at Schepel Buick, Fieldhouse Ford in DeMotte after retirement. Floyd was a U.S. Navy Seaman 1st class in WW II.
Surviving are his loving wife: Alyce; children: Shirlee (Wayne) Oosterhoff, Tim W. Jabaay, and daughter-in-law: Sue Jabaay, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and brother: Harry (Marlene) Jabaay.
Floyd was preceded in death by: 1 son, Floyd Allen Jabaay, 2 sisters: Ruth Thiel and Hazel Van Kley, 2 brothers: Calvin Jabaay and Roy Jabaay.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Floyd will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the First Christian Reformed Church in DeMotte with Minister James E. Bennell Sr. officiating.
Per Floyd’s wishes, cremation will follow services.
