85 year old, Everett E. Kopka, of Winamac, passed away May 1, 2021.
On August 28, 1935, Everett was born in Jefferson Township, Indiana, to Milo and Mary (Krohn) Kopka. Everett married the love of his life, Reba (Tanner) Kopka on May 19, 1956 at the Medaryville Christian Church. Everett was a Truck Driver/Mechanic, and was self-employed. He drove for Diamond Trucking. He attended Medaryville Christian Church, where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He loved his church. He was a member of the Teamsters #364.
Everett is survived by his loving family: wife: Reba, children: Cheryl (Steve) Walden, Cathy Deford, Steve (Alice) Kopka, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Emma Johns, brothers: William, Henry, Fred, Kenneth, Milo Jr., & Ernest Kopka, Infant siblings: Carl, Charles & Lena, and son-in-law: Kevin Deford.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. (EST-fast) on Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Medaryville Christian Church. Services for Everett will take place at the church at 11:00 a.m. (EST-fast) on Saturday, May 8, 2021, with Pastor David Broad officiating. Interment will follow at the Idle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for the Medaryville Christian Church or Riley’s Children’s Hospital.
