Eupha Faye Coates

90 year old, Eupha ‘Faye’ Coates, of Gary, passed away June 7, 2021, at Munster Community Hospital.

On November 7, 1930, Faye was born to Benjamin and Madeline (Mc Elwain) Williams, in Whiting, Indiana. Faye graduated from the ‘old’ Crown Point High School. She married Leroy Coates. She worked as a Social Worker, Supervisor, for Lake County Association for Handicapped Individuals. Faye was always busy working and coached baseball and softball. She enjoyed bowling. She was a member of the Wheatfield Chamber of Commerce. She ran the Lemon Shake-up, Cotton Candy, and corn dog booth.

Faye is survived by her son: Russell Coates.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband: Leroy, son: Kenneth A. Coates, brothers: Hardin and John, and sister: Sara Nell.

Per Faye’s wishes cremation will take place.
