Edwin 'Ed' Coon

79 year old, Edwin K. Coon, of Rensselaer, passed away January 12, 2024.

On January 2, 1945, Edwin was born to Roy and Hazel (Kirby) Coon, in Crooked Creek Township, Jasper County, Illinois. Edwin was a veteran of the United States Army, and served in the Calvary during the Vietnam War. Edwin then went to work for Bethlehem Steel as a millwright. Edwin liked being outdoors, whether it be riding his ATV, or hunting. He also liked to travel and enjoyed fishing trips to Canada. 

Edwin is survived by his son: Selwyn ‘Rork’ (Angela) Coon, three wonderful grandchildren: Rowan, Morganne, and Drake, siblings: Rosemary Salyers, Dolores (Rodney) Eaton, and brother-in-law: Charles Cummings.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, and sister: Norma-Jean Cummings.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana.
