81 year old, Edward E. Myers, of Wheatfield, passed away February 20, 2024, at his home, with his loving family around him.
On October 23, 1942, Ed was born to Edsel and Dorothy (Budzinski) Myers, in East Chicago, Indiana. Ed was a graduate of Purdue University, who worked as an industrial engineer at Inland Steel. He married the love of his life, Marcie Sekulski on April 18, 1964 in East Chicago, Indiana. Ed was a leader for local Boy Scout troops for over 25 years. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hiking, camping, and made his own walking sticks. Ed built model railroads, collected Hot Wheels, and adored his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his family: wife: Marcie, children: Jason (Sue Zylstra) Myers, Brendan (Alicia) Myers, grandchildren: Chloe Myers, Kaydee Myers, Felicia Sytsma, Cody Sytsma, siblings: Ronald (Sue) Myers, Michael (Diane) Myers, granddogs, and his cat: Carrot.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter: Aubrey Myers, and brother: David Myers.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Mass will take place at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, Wheatfield, Indiana, at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, with Father Michael McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haven Hospice.
