Doris M. Wood

77 year old, Doris M. Wood of DeMotte, passed away May 8, 2016 with her loving family around her.

Doris was born in East Chicago, Indiana to Floyd and Rosalie (Sisko) Cameron on February 19, 1939. She married the love of her life, Jim Wood on March 7, 1970 in Black Oak, Gary, Indiana. Doris loved being a housewife, attending Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Aide Society. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, crocheting, knitting, and cross-stitching.

Doris is survived by her loving family: husband: Jim, children: Kim Kammer, James (Leslie) Wood, Kathleen (Martin) Kazmierski, Karen (Mason) Spencer, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents: Floyd & Rosalie, son: Jay Wood, and granddaughter: Shelby Spencer.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. (with a 4:00 p.m. Rosary) on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Mass will take place at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Interment will follow in the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Food Pantry.
