Donald Ray Gear

83 year old, Donald Ray Gear, of Valparaiso, passed away January 21, 2020 at his home with his loving family around him.

On March 27, 1936, Donald was born to Albert and Ruth (Poling) Gear in Daily, West Virginia. Don married his best friend and love of his life Wanda Lee Bartlett on September 8, 1954. Don worked in maintenance at Bethlehem Steel.

Donald is survived by his loving family, wife: Wanda Lee, children: Donald ‘Robin’ (Pam) Gear, Carey (Kim) Gear, Curtis (Tonya) Gear, 8 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, and sister: Tony Hamrick.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Gene Chandler.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January , 25, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Donald will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Don ‘Robin’ Gear officiating. Interment will follow at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to VNA Hospice.
