Dennis DeKoekkoek

51 year old, Dennis DeKoekkoek of DeMotte, passed away October 24, 2008.

On April 7, 1957 Dennis was born to Robert J. and Mary Lou (nee: Hoort) DeKoekkoek in Kalamazoo, Michigan, who survive. On February 15, 1985, he married Colleen Brown in Denver, Colorado. Dennis also served in the United States Air Force 57 Combat Support Company. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of DeMotte, where he served as the director of Music at the First Reformed Church of DeMotte for the last three years.

Dennis is survived by his wife: Colleen, children: David (Jennifer) Pierce, Robert (fiancé Amanda Morris) DeKoekkoek, Kara (Al) Escamilla, Eric DeKoekkoek, Brian (fiancé Sara Wheeler) DeKoekkoek, and 5 grandchildren. Also surviving are his grandmother: Grace DeKoekkoek, brothers and sisters: Gloria (David) Sinkler, Doug (Joan) DeKoekkoek, Steve (fiancé Sue Baker) DeKoekkoek, Carol (Richard) Moreno, and Jim (Vanessa) DeKoekkoek.

Per Dennis’ wishes cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Reformed Church of DeMotte, with Pastor Roger Huitink officiating.

Boersma Funeral Home of Wheatfield is in charge of the services.
