82 year old, Dean E. Kingma, of DeMotte, went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 28, 2021.

Dean was born on March 16, 1939, in Rensselear, Indiana, to Sam E. and Marcia (Swart) Kingma. Dean graduated from DeMotte High School, class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Army reserves. Dean worked at DeMotte State Bank for 47 years retiring as Vice President, and served on the bank board. Dean married Barbara Hammond on April 22, 1987, at the DeMotte Christian Church. Dean was a member of the American Reformed Church. He liked to ride his motorcycle, play his guitar, and fishing. He especially loved family get-togethers, and visiting with friends.

Dean is survived by his family: wife: Barbara, children: Wendy Kelley, Bill Kingma, Traci (Don) Shelmon, Michelle (Craig) Myers, Mark Craig (Heather Roberts), and Shannon Humphrey, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and sister: Judith Hazelton.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant great-grandson.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the American Reformed Church, DeMotte, Indiana. Services for Dean will take place at the church on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Troy Nanninga officiating. Interment will take place at the Holland Cemetery on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
