Dale Marlatt

60 year old, Dale M. Marlatt, of DeMotte, formerly of Wheatfield, passed away July 11, 2009, at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana.

On December 3, 1948, Dale was born to Delos and Grace (nee: Terpstra) Marlatt in Rensselaer, Indiana. Dale graduated from Wheatfield High School and was a steel worker at Mittal Steel for 42 years. Dale

enjoyed hunting, trapping, gardening, bike riding, collecting toy tractors, family and grandchildren. He married Frances Whited on June 1, 1992, in Rensselaer, Indiana.

Surviving are wife Frances, children: Tammy (Mark) Antonian, William (Jennie) Marlatt, and Robert (Laura) Marlatt, step- children: Wendy (Todd) Stevens, and Cari (Garry) Recker, grandchildren: MacKenzie, Spenser, Payton, & Hunter Shepherd; Austin, Gracie, & Jenna Marlatt; Colten, Cade, & Carlee Marlatt; step-grandchildren: Alexandria Stevens; Shayla, Jeffrey, & Jacob Recker. Mother: Grace, siblings: David (Marcella) Marlatt, Diana (Sam) Wayne, Delos (Lisa) Marlatt, & Daryl (Karen) Marlatt, and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Delos Marlatt, and one son-in-law, Jason ‘Buzz’ Shepherd.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Dale will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Boersma Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Wheatfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for VNA Hospice.
