Clarabell Jean Shevock

88 year old, Clarabell Jean Shevock, of Wheatfield, passed away February 26, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Crown Point, Indiana.

On November 4, 1921, she was born to William H. and Ettajane (nee: Sandres) Armstrong. Jean attended school at Rockford, Michigan. She married John J. Shevock Sr., on July 13, 1940. Jean worked as a shoemaker for Wolverine Shoes until she retired in 1988.

Jean is survived by 4 sons: John J. Shevock Jr. of Newago, MI, William H. & Dot Shevock of Wheatfield, IN, Donald Lee & JoAnn Shevock of Sparta, MI, Gary E. & Trudy Shevock of Cedar Springs, MI, 6 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Sharon Armstrong of Wheatfield.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Shevock Sr., 2 grandchildren, William D. Shevock and Jodi Shevock, 1 sister, Helen Nemeth, 1 brother, John Armstrong, and 1 half-brother, Wallace Martin.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove Street, Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Jean will take place at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Alvin Smith officiating. Interment will take place in the Algoma Township Cemetery, in Sparta, Michigan.
