Christopher Van Baren

39 year old, Christopher K. Van Baren, of DeMotte, passed away at his home, on August 26, 2021.

Chris was born on May 30, 1982, in Hammond, Indiana, to Garry Van Baren Jr. and Lora (Wolfe) Van Baren. Chris worked as a bricklayer, and at a booth in Shipshewana. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and swimming. He liked hanging out in the garage, and giving people a hard time.

Chris is survived by his mother: Lora, children: Laila VanBaren and Tonya VanBaren, grandfather: Earl Wolfe, grandmother: Lita VanBaren, siblings: Jason VanBaren, Jessica VanBaren, and Abigail VanBaren.

Chris was preceded in death by his: father: Garry VanBaren Jr., grandfather: Garry VanBaren Sr., and grandmother: Dorothy Wolfe.

Per Chris’ wishes cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life service will take place at the Wheatfield American Legion on September 18, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
