Christine E Betts

65 year old, Christine E. Betts, of Wheatfield, passed away April 11, 2020.

On May 6, 1954, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Chris was born to Robert and Phyllis (Torgrimson) Tanner. Chris married the love of her life, Michael C. Betts, on October 17, 1981, in Rensselaer, Indiana. Chris worked for Kankakee Valley Schools as a teacher’s aide – the last years were spent at Kankakee Valley Middle School. Chris was adored by not only the students and faculty, but all those that were fortunate to have known her. Those that were close, referred to her as “Momma Betts,” for her love and silly personality made everyone feel a close personal bond. Chris always expressed the importance of family and friends. This mindset is why so many loved her presence, and the reason she will be missed by all.

Chris is survived by her loving family, husband: Mike, sons: Joshua and Jacob, and grandchildren: Hadlee and Harper Betts. 

Mike loved Chris with all his heart and cherishes the long marriage and time he was lucky to have shared with her.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Forest Tanner.

Per Chris’ wishes cremation will take place.
