Chase M. Rector

On October 31, 2020 Chase Michael Rector died unexpectedly at the age of 23 near his residence in Rensselaer.

Chase was born on March 30, 1997, to Michael and Tammy Rector, in Rensselaer, Indiana. He spent his childhood growing up in Fair Oaks and was a graduate of Kankakee Valley High School in 2015.  He was a dedicated employee of White Castle Bakery in Rensselaer where he touched the lives of many through his final days. His weekends were spent driving a tractor for Fair Oaks Dairy Farms tours. Chase had a passion for singing and playing his guitar and often recorded for friends and family to enjoy. He shared a deep love for video games and spent countless nights enjoying this in the company of cousin, Travis Daniels, and best friends Justin Fontaine, Alex Parks and Clay Martin. Chase loved working out, fishing, spending time with family, and for those who really knew him: Chinese buffets! His smile was contagious, and his goofy personality could lighten up any room. He had a heart of gold and made an impact on everyone he encountered, he will truly be missed by many. 

Chase is survived by his parents: Michael and Tammy Rector, sister: Ashley Rector, half-siblings: Michelle Rector, Heather Bryan, Robert O’Shea, Matthew Toosley, nephews: KJ and Kyran Holmes, grandmother: Louise Rector, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chase was preceded in death by his grandmother: Eleanor Porter, grandfathers: Joseph Rector, and Donald Mares, uncle: Doug Rector, and sister: Kristen Monroe,

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Chase will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home with Pastor David Mueller officiating.
