Charmaine "Char" Mak

82 year old, Charmiane ‘Char’ Mak of McKinney, Texas, formerly of DeMotte, passed away August 1, 2011.

 

On November 7, 1928, Char was born to George H. and Amanda (nee: Seter) Hockney in DeMotte, Indiana. Char attended DeMotte schools and married Walter Mak on May 22, 1946, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Char loved being a housewife and attended the Roselawn United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Club.

 

Char is survived by her 3 children: Karen (Robby) Kleinman-Robertson, Randall (Sandy) Mak, and Bradley (Sandra) Mak, 9 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 15 great-grandchildren.

 

Char was preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents, two grandsons and a special friend, Marvin Boyd.

 

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Char will take place on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dennis Morros officiating at Boersma Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the DeMotte Cemetery, in DeMotte.
