Charles 'Chops' Conley

79 year old, Charles Conley, of Wheatfield, passed away September 4, 2023.

On September 21, 1943, Charles was born to Russell and Mary Helen (Hale) Conley in Newland, Indiana. Charles married the love of his life, Cecilia ‘Sue’ Friend, on June 24, 1972, at the Full Gospel Tabernacle, Wheatfield, Indiana. Charles worked at Inland Steel as a Kiln Operator. He attended Assembly of God.

Charles is survived by his siblings: Patty (Max) Brigide, Joyce Walcott, Lois Kropf, Janice Chupp, Russell Conley, Calvin Conley, Debbie (Greg) Oliver, brother-in-law: Wayne Lanie, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces & great-nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife: Sue, his parents, and sisters: Fannie Conley and Darlene Lanie, in-laws: Paul Walcott, Eldon Knopf, Leon Chupp, Sue Conley, and Jana Conley.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. (CST) on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Charles will take place on Sunday evening at 4:00 p.m. (CST) with Pastor Tom Dewlin officiating. Graveside service will take place on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
