Carolyn R Van Vuren

80 year old, Carolyn R. Van Vuren, of Wheatfield, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, two days before her 81st birthday, in DeMotte, Indiana, with loving family around her. 

On January 19, 1944, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Carolyn was born to Martin and Rose (Hamstra) Klemp. She graduated from Wheatfield High School, class of 1962. Carolyn married the love of her life, Wayne Van Vuren, in DeMotte, Indiana, on Oct 8, 1963. 

Carolyn truly loved life to the fullest through simple pleasures, including chatting and visiting with friends and family. Carolyn had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed activities such as riding her golf cart out to the barn to see the cows, playing with her dogs: Buddy and Rocky, feeding her birds, mowing, camping, and taking care of her flower beds. She happily spent her time sewing, crafting, baking, and watching football and basketball.

Carolyn’s memory will always live on in the hearts of those who loved her, her husband: Wayne, children: Dave (Sharon) Van Vuren, Dale (Tonia) Van Vuren, and Daryl Van Vuren, six grandchildren: Taylor (Tanner) Hands, Jessica Van Vuren, Tori (Hunter) Gladish, Trenton (Amber) Van Vuren, Jackson Van Vuren, Clayton Van Vuren, and five precious little great-grandsons. 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Alberta Roorda, George Klemp, Gilbert Klemp, and Alice Kamminga.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Carolyn’s life on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 521 S Halleck St., DeMotte, IN 46310. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Jeremy Oosterhouse. A graveside service will be at the Holland Cemetery on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethel Christian Reformed Church Lift Fund.
