75 year old, Betty Seegers of Wheatfield passed May 21, 2015 at her home.
On April 7, 1940, Betty was born to John and Susie (Ettema) DeYoung in Rensselaer, Indiana. Betty married the love of her life, Bernard Seegers in DeMotte, on December 19, 1957. Betty was a lifetime area resident who enjoyed being a farm wife.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, and very involved in Reformed Church Women’s Minstries. In her works of teaching Sunday School and being a 4-H leader, she was able to share her love of Jesus with the children she had a passion for.
Betty is survived by her loving husband: Bernard, children: Darlene (Larry) Donis, Dennis Seegers, Dawn (Mark) Scheurch, and Dean (Joy) Seegers, 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, siblings: Tresa Woodke, Violet DeKock, Susie (Charlie) Hamstra, Simon DeYoung, Judy Vander Molen, Gene DeYoung, and Roger (Janet) DeYoung.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Cecil, Kenneth & John, 2 sisters: Jennett, and Evelyn
The family has selected cremation and a Celebration of Betty’s life will take place on June 10th from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. with a 4:30 Celebration Service and light dinner to follow at 5:30 p.m. at the Kankakee Valley Christian Church, Wheatfield.
