Bernice Myers

84 year old, Bernice Myers, of Wheatfield finished her journey here on earth surrounded by her family on Monday August 9, 2010.  She was born July 24 1926 in Chicago IL to Joseph and Mary Pratl, both deceased.  Bernice married Foster “Doc” Myers on December 31, 1946.  Together they were blessed with three children, Shirley, Dan and Greg.  Bernice attended Kniman schools and graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1944.  She enjoyed her work in the Wheatfield Elementary School Library for 33 years until she retired in 2001.  Bernice was an active member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Doc, brothers Ray Pratl, Joseph Figel, Charlie Figel, Joseph Pratl, and her sisters Emme Beneseck, Rose VanCaro, and Mary Dorothy. 

Surviving Bernice are her loving children Shirley (Clarence) Misch of DeMotte, Foster “Dan” (Judy) Myers of Wheatfield, and Greg (Ruth) Myers of Wheatfield, 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is her close and dear friend Viola Schroeder of Wheatfield. 

Visitation will be held at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church in Wheatfield on Wednesday August 11, 2010 from 2 p.m.  until 8 p.m.  with the Rosary at 4 p.m.   A mass celebrating Bernice’s life will be on Thursday August 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.  Services will be conducted by Father Paternoster and arrangements are being handled by Boersma’s Funeral Home.  Memorial may be made to Sorrowful Mother Food Pantry or Wheatfield Elementary School Library.
