Barbara A. Stanton

75 year old, Barbara A. Stanton, of DeMotte, passed away September 4, 2023.

On April 7, 1948, Barb was born to Billy and Kathryn (Ward) Nuss in Dyer, Indiana. She graduated from Wheatfield High School, class of 1966. Barb married her prince, best-friend, her everything: Ronald L. Stanton, on November 12, 1966 at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, Wheatfield, Indiana. They were inseparable. If there ever was two perfect people, perfectly made for one another, it was Ron & Barb. From their love came 2 children and 6 beautiful grandchildren. She taught them everything about faith and love.

Barb liked to paint, draw, and sew. She was a competitor, her biggest joy was watching her grandkids doing what they love, along-side of Ron. She was lady luck at all card and board games with her family. She promised she never cheated. (Well, she never was caught anyway.) Barb Was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She loved unconditionally, she made you feel like you were important to her, and her faith was unshakeable. The world is better now because of her, than before her. She has forever changed the lives of those she loved. She enjoyed being a housewife.

Barb is survived by her loving devoted husband: Ron, children: Robert ‘Bob’ (Michele ‘Chel’) Stanton, Michelle ‘Shelly’ (Brian) Flick, the lights of her life: Bailey Flick (Reilly Datillo), Riley Stanton (Jake Walters), Madey Flick (Gage Stevens), Lilly Stanton, Micah Stanton, Brady Flick, and the ‘bonus kids’: Herma, DeBoard, and Hernandez families, siblings: Deborah (Roger) Parker, William ‘Billy’ Nuss, Vicki Nuss, Kathleen (Rick) Dunn, and sister-in-laws: Diane Allen, Sonja Stansberry & Linda (Jess) Howard.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Pam Nuss.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Barb will take place at 12:00 (noon) at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, with Father Michael McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church -- the Food Pantry.
