Barbara Echterling

88 year old, Barbara A. Echterling, of Wheatfield, passed away September 6, 2021.

On December 11, 1932, in Gary, Indiana, Barbara was born to Eugene and Mary (Kennedy) Hardesty. She was a homemaker and worked for Hook’s Drugs, and CVS for a 20+ years. Barbara was a member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church. She married the love of her life, Julian Echterling (who preceded her) on June 16, 1951, at St. Edwards in Lowell, Indiana.

Barbara is survived by her children: Kevin (Brenda) Echterling, Scott (Bibiane) Echterling, John (Judy) Echterling, 8 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren, siblings: Margie Dewis, Betty Smith, Ronnie (Aileen) Hardesty, Bill (Janice) Hardesty, and Ed (Pamela) Hardesty.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband: Julian, daughter: Debbra Daniels, son: Leon Echterling, sisters: Mary Ensweller, Dorothy Scott, and Helen Pear and infants: Allrad & Rita Jo.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church with Father Michael McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, DeMotte, Indiana.

Memorials may be given to Sorrowful Mother Food Pantry.
