Arthur R. Newbury Sr.

88 year old, Arthur R. Newbury Sr. of Wheatfield, passed away at his home on April 17, 2018 with his loving family around him.

On December 27, 1929, in Sesser, Illinois, Arthur was born to Welby ‘Webb’ and Rella (Robinson) Newbury. He married Marietta Clemans on September 25, 1954 in Rensselaer, Indiana. Arthur served in the U.S. Army, and then worked as a plumber at Hamstra Builders for 30+ years. He then drove truck until he was 80, after retiring 4 times. He was a member of the Rensselaer VFW.

Arthur is survived by his loving family, wife: Marietta, children: Kathy (Simon) Sipkema, Carolyn (Elliot) Williams, John (Debra) Newbury, 11 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Arthur Jr., 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Arthur will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Andy Boersma officiating. Interment will follow at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Rensselaer VFW.
