Arlene R Loomis

Arlene R Loomis, 79, of Lowell, passed away April 24, 2023 with her loving family around her. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

On October 13, 1943, Arlene was born to Dennis and Ferne (Smith) Simmons in Alhambra, California. She was a massage therapist & reflexologist, and also taught massage therapy. Arlene also sat on the Indiana State Board for the AMTA. Her healing hands have touched many lives, in many ways. Arlene was a member of Unity of NW Indiana church, and there she served as a Prayer Chaplin, and was involved in many other church activities.  Her love of life and spirituality were infectious to everyone who came in contact with her. She enjoyed spending time with and loving her grandchildren. She enjoyed doing puzzles, especially with her niece, Tara.

Arlene is survived by her loving children: Lynn (Jeff) Markus, Robin (Ken) Brous, Jenny (Steve) Moore, Paul (Sheila) Loomis, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and sisters: Peggy Hylemon, and Ann Painter.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers-in-laws: John Hylemon, and Richard Painter.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Plum Creek Center, 2138 Moeller St., Dyer, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Unity Church.

She will be missed by many.

Per Arlene’s wishes cremation will take place.
