Althalee R. Dobson, 67, of (Kniman) DeMotte, Indiana, and Bradenton, Florida, passed away at her home in Bradenton, Florida on October 10, 2012. She was born February 16, 1945 to John and Byrdia Middelkamp. Althalee attended the Kniman and Wheatfield school system where she met James A. Dobson. They were married on August 18, 1962. Althalee was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and was known by all for her dedication and love for being a nurse. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse, and went on to attend Purdue North Central where she graduated in 1987 with her degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years as a nurse at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer, Indiana.

 

Althalee is survived by her husband James of 50 years and her 4 loving children; Dawn, Daniel, Deanna, & David, and their spouses. She also leaves behind the pride & joy of her life, her 11 grandchildren; Taylor, Micah, Jessica, Ashley, Chyna, Andrew, Joshua, Hannah, Caleb, Abigail,

& Isaac, and one brother James Middelkamp.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister in-law John and Sandy Middelkamp, and nephew Chad Middelkamp.

She also leaves behind many extended family and friends. Althalee will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Memorial Service will be held on October 20, 2012 at 2 PM, at Calvary Assembly of God church in DeMotte.

Per Althalee‘s wishes she has been cremated and her ashes will be laid to rest at the DeMotte Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Purdue University’s Nursing Department.
