87 year old, Alice Mae Whited, of DeMotte formerly of Wheatfield, passed away August 11, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family.
On March 8, 1925 in Jasper County Alice was born to Clinton & Frances (Fritz) Sanders. Alice Mae had 12 siblings. After growing up in Medaryville and graduating from Medaryville High School, Alice married William Delos Whited on October 3, 1945. They lived in Wheatfield and had 4 children. Alice retired from Porter Memorial Hospital as a Ward Clerk and enjoyed taking cruises and attending family reunions and High School Alumni dinners. She was a current member at United Methodist Church in Medaryville. Alice had membership in the Wheatfield Rebekah Lodge and was a dedicated TOPS member attaining KOPS status. And, she made the best homemade chicken & noodles for holidays and family gatherings!
Alice is survived by her four children: Wanda (Bob) Castle, Bill Whited, Frances (the late Dale) Marlatt, Steve (Pam) Whited, six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Irl ‘Buck’ (Georgia) Sanders, Pat (Judy) Sanders, two sisters: Norma Bennett and Joan (Leroy) Luken, brother-in-law: Richard (Edna) Whited, sister-in-law: Nellie Sculley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband: William, parents: Clinton & Frances, four brothers: Lloyd, Richard, Milton (Shorty), and Eldon (Bud), and four sisters Doris, Marjean, Carol Ann, and Marcie.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 until 12:00 (noon) on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield. Services will take place at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, with Pastor Susan Jennys officiating. Interment will take place at the Wheatfield Cemetery.
