81 year old, Albert ‘Albie’ R. Hoecker Jr., of DeMotte, Indiana, formerly of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away July 22, 2022 at his home in DeMotte, Indiana.

 

Albert was born on September 26, 1940, to Albert R. and Margaret (Grimm) Hoecker, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Albert graduated high school, and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked in construction for a time, and moved on to Real Estate as a Realtor for Century 21 in Arkansas. He married Judy Riedstra on July 2, 1994, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He was a member of the Roselawn American Legion Post #238, and the Marine Corp League. He liked to play pool.

 

Albert is survived by his wife: Judy, children: Scott (Jacey) Hoecker, Bonnie Silver-Bren (Darrell Bren), Julie Fordon, and Cindy (John) Cook, Mark (Jodi) Smit, Daniel (Lori) Smit, James (Cynthia) Smit, Steve (Nicole) Smit, Julie (James) Gebo, 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and sister: Sandy Casey.

 

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Leo Hoecker, stepsons: Paul Smit and Russell Smit.

 

 

 

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Crete Church, 24755 S. Country Lane, Crete, Illinois. Services for Albert will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the church with Pastor Brett Revlett officiating. Interment is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Haven Hospice, 1114 S Halleck St., DeMotte, Indiana 46310.
