90 year old, Adeline N. Jolink of DeMotte, passed away March 16, 2018.
On August 19, 1927, Adeline was born to Peter and Hattie (Dykstra) Nydam in Platte, South Dakota. Adeline attained a 2-year teaching certificate, later received a BA from St. Joseph’s College, and a MS in library science from Purdue Calumet. Adeline married the love of her life, Dick J. Jolink Jr. in Platte, South Dakota on July 18, 1950. After retiring from DeMotte Elementary, where she was a librarian, she served as her church secretary. She was also a member of the Indiana Retired Teacher’s Association.
Adeline is survived by her children: Donna Quinlan, Rae Kozlowski, David (Audrey) Jolink, Patty Van Dyke, Bonnie (Bob) Jonkman, Merri (Larry) Zordan, and Deb (Frank) McConnell, 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sisters: Berdene Kok and Henrietta DeBie.
Adeline was preceded in death by her husband: Dick J. Jolink Jr., son-in-law: Tim Kozlowski, and brother-in-laws: Marvin DeBie and Raymond Kok.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Community Christian Reformed Church, Roselawn, Indiana. Services will take place at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joel Zuidema officiating. Interment will follow at the Holland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to: Oak Grove Retirement Village or DeMotte Christian Schools.
